Microdosing involves taking a small, sub-perceptual amount of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) on a regular basis to experience the life changing benefits of psychedelic medicine without hallucinations or disruptions to daily life.
The most common dose size is 125 mg. This amount is generally effective for providing noticeable benefits without any intoxicating effects.
Following a protocol, especially as a beginner, ensures consistency and effectiveness in your practice and helps avoid tolerance buildup that can diminish the effects of your microdose.
The Fadiman Protocol
Great for: Beginner’s
Curated by the “father of microdosing” Dr. James Fadiman, the Fadiman protocolis one of the most popular microdosing schedules and often referred to as “the beginner’s protocol”.
Following 1 day on, 2 days off schedule for 4-8 weeks, followed by 2-4 weeks break. This schedule emphasizes the importance of rest days to prevent tolerance buildup and assess your results in between doses.
The Stamets Stack Protocol
Great for: Mental health and cognitive enhancement
The Stamets Stack Protocol is a popular microdosing method developed by renowned mycologist Paul Stamets. This protocol incorporates niacin and lion’s mane mushrooms in addition to psilocybin to support neurogenesis and enhance the effects of microdosing. The Stamets Stack follows a 4 days on, 3 days off schedule, followed by a 2-3 weeks break.
Onset time: 30 – 60min. Most users will feel an uplifted mood, increased awareness, motivation, and sense of creativity. It’s normal to feel slight nervousness or “butterflies” initially, but this usually passes quickly. Some may also experience an emotional release, however this typically fades over time as the body builds tolerance.
Macrodosing involves taking a more recreational approach to mushrooms, at a dose size which, in contrast to microdosing, can cause hallucinations and changes in regular perception.
Our macro capsules contain 450 mg each, providing a lighter experience. For a full trip, users may take 1+ grams.
450mg to 1g: Those with lower tolerances may experience mild-to-moderate visuals and perception shifts, generally accompanied by brighter colors, a sense of euphoria, and a body high.
1 – 2g: This is a sensory-shifting dose, best suited for those ready to experience a full trip. Expect potent visuals like fractals and patterns, along with distinct auditory and physical sensations.
2 – 3g: This is a strong mushroom trip. It often brings a profound sense of oneness with the universe, ego dissolution, novel insights, and a range of hallucinatory effects.
3g+: This is “hero dose” territory, typically reserved for experienced users. Trips of this intensity require planning, including a trusted trip sitter to ensure a safe experience.
Onset: Effects generally begin within 30–90 minutes, with peak intensity around 2–3 hours after consumption and lasting up to 6–8 hours depending on the dose. These effects will depend on the dose size chosen, however a macrodose typically brings visual distortions, heightened emotions, deep introspection, and mystical experiences. The intensity depends on the dose.
